교수소개

임재현 교수는 기업의 생산·물류 시스템과 공급망 운영을 중심으로, 효율성과 지속가능성을 함께 고려한 운영 전략을 연구하고 있다. 특히 데이터와 정량적 분석을 기반으로 기업 운영 전반의 의사결정 구조를 이해하고, 친환경 생산·유통, ESG 기반 경영, 재생에너지 및 녹색기술 확산과 관련된 운영 및 시장 전략, 정책 이슈를 주요 연구 주제로 다루고 있다.

서울대학교에서는 학부, 대학원, MBA, Executive MBA 및 최고경영자과정(AMP)을 대상으로 생산서비스운영, 경영과학, Supply Chain Analytics, 프로세스 혁신 등을 강의하고 있다. 또한 공급망 관리와 프로세스 혁신을 중심으로 다양한 산업의 기업을 대상으로 임직원 교육 및 자문 활동을 수행하고 있다.

서울대학교 부임 이전에는 미국 일리노이 주립대 어바나-샴페인 (Univ of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) 경영대학에서 조교수 및 부교수로 8년간 재직하였다. 2018년 서울대학교 창의선도 신진학자로 선정되었고, 2020년 한국과학기술한림원 차세대회원으로 선출되었다. 현재 한국생산운영관리학회 부회장, 한국경영과학회 연구이사, 미국 생산관리학회(POMS) 지속가능경영분과 회장을 역임하며 국내외에서 활발한 학술 활동을 이어가고 있다. 연세대학교 산업공학 학사, 미국 노스웨스턴대학교에서 산업공학 및 경영과학으로 석사와 박사학위를 취득하였다.
