Tailor-made for international students interested in learning Chinese language and culture

4-week credit-bearing programme organized by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
1 - 8 August 2007 in Beijing
8-day optional tour organized by Xi"an Jiaotong University
Tuition Fee
-Students from exchange partner institutions - waived. (Please note that two students from partner university attending the summer school will be counted as one student attending the regular semester in the exchange balance)
-Students from non-exchange partner institutions - HK$ 7,500 (~US$960)
Credit-bearing Programme
-Putonghua (Mandarin) for Non-Chinese Speakers (3 credits)
-Introduction to Chinese Civilization (3 credits)
-An integration of classroom lectures and cultural visits
-Medium of instruction: English
Extracurricular Activities
-Talks on special topics
-Social and cultural activities in Hong Kong - a City of Life, a metropolis with the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures, and a gateway to China
-Optional study tour to Guangdong (in Southern China)
Accommodation at Student Hostel
-HK$40 (~US$5) per person per day
-Double occupancy room
-Rooms fully-furnished with air-conditioner, mini-fridge, IP phone and unlimited free access to the Internet
Optional Tour
-Optional language and cultural enhancement programme in Xi"an co-organized with Xi"an Jiaotong University
