[일반] WRDS Users Conference
Greetings:
As we move closer to the date of our WRDS Users Conference on October 1st and 2nd,
I am following up to invite you, your colleagues and PhD students to join us
at The Wharton School.
Please forward this information along to your users.
I. IN ORDER TO DETERMINE POTENTIAL INTEREST, please let me
know whether there is either a strong chance or a likely chance that you,
a colleague, faculty member, or PhD student will be able to attend.
Any reply would help me greatly in determining the expected number of
attendees and planning the event.
II. REGISTRATION:
The Registration Form is attached and can also be found on our WRDS site.

Accommodation information, agenda and additional information are included
on the Registration Form.
III. AGENDA:
The Users Conference will begin with a Welcome Luncheon on Monday,
October 1, followed by afternoon sessions.
A cocktail reception and Dinner in the main dining room overlooking
the city in The Wharton School’s Jon M. Huntsman Building completes the evening.
Sessions begin again on Tuesday morning, October 2, following breakfast.
Our WRDS team is developing an agenda which will include split sessions
to accommodate the interests of both new and experienced users.
Some topics include, but not limited to:
Track 1 General: covering the most important aspects of using
the WRDS(especially the web query interface).
* Overview of WRDS: Web Interface, Queries, Tools and Support
* Introduction to Compustat XpressFeed
* Comparison of Web, Unix and PC/SAS access
Track 2 Delving into dataset details, with applications.
* Bonds and Ratings: Research and Data Issues
* Linking Tables Approach
* Introduction to TAQ and other Intraday Data on WRDS
Track 3 Hands-on sessions
* Introduction to SAS & Hands-on PC/SAS: Intro to CRSP,
Compustat and IBES
* Alternative Linking Procedures using SAS
* Techniques and Applications in Portfolio Construction
This meeting will also offer information about our future direction
and give you an opportunity to meet and network with professionals
at WRDS schools in many different fields.
IV. PhD STUDENT SESSIONS:
We will conduct special sessions on Tuesday, October 2,
which will include roundtable discussions on PhD student issues.
PhD students are also welcome to attend both days of the conference.
