Summary:

Asia Alternatives Management LLC is seeking Investment Analysts to join our dynamic team. These roles will be based in Hong Kong. The individual must be extremely talented, self-driven, entrepreneurial and passionate about a career in Asia private equity. As an Investment Analyst with Asia Alternatives, you will engage across all functions of the firm and will have exposure to the entire deal process from origination and due-diligence through deal structuring and post-investment portfolio management. This role is a balance between market research, financial analysis, business strategy and investment execution. The ideal candidate is interested in Asia, has superior analytical skills, is extremely organized, has a passion for private investing and is a prolific writer, who prides themselves on thoughtful and eloquent communication. Candidates, who take initiative, have a tremendous work ethic and a high level of maturity is considered ideal. This is a 2 – 3 year program with potential to continue based upon performance.

Investment Analyst – Entry level position

Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Deal execution, portfolio management, and market research will be the key focus. The individual will be mainly responsible for due diligence, deal execution and portfolio management of primary investment opportunities in Asia private equity funds, as well as selective secondary transactions

·         Additional responsibilities include direct co-investment opportunities where the firm invests in companies directly with private equity fund managers

·         Interface on a daily basis with Managing Directors, Investment Team, CFO, General

·         Counsel and Managing Partner on investment execution

·         Extensive financial modeling, including return analysis to support potential investment opportunities

·         Provide financial evaluation of project investment opportunities including review of project documents

·         Participate in negotiations on behalf of the firm for new investments dealing with partnership agreements, financing agreements and other project contacts which impact the project return

·         Provide ongoing monitoring of assets with the firm’s portfolios including review of quarterly performance

·         Establish and maintain relationship with industry, trade and professional organizations to enhance visibility of the firm in the market place

·         Travel required in area of assignment which could include: Japan, Korea and Australia

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor Degree in Economics, Finance or Business from a premier university

·         Clear, concise writing skills

·         Strong academic credentials required

·         2 years or longer full-time experience in private equity, investment banking or consulting preferred

·         Highly analytical

·         Knowledge of business growth strategy and the risk/return characteristics of private equity investment opportunities

·         Extensive financial modeling skills and experience in Excel

·         Strong interpersonal and communication skills

·         Depending on the assignment, candidate must be fluent in English, as well as Korean
