Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities) This position offers the successful candidate an opportunity to work with a high-performing team of 19 DIT colleagues. DIT aims to attract investment into the UK and also helps British companies to do business in the Korean market and work with Korean companies in third countries. Responsibilities: Day-to-day lead on investment projects from the Life Sciences, Automotive, Retail industry Confident in interacting with Korean interlocutors to introduce UK Investment Environment and dealing with enquiries Advising, assisting and occasionally interpreting for visiting UK Government Ministers and senior officials meeting their Korean counterparts Specific duties: Developing and maintaining relationships with a wide range of Korean companies working in assigned sectors, understanding their business strategies and identifying those with the potential to do business in the European market Convincing those companies of the benefits of setting up an operation in the UK, and with support from the DIT network, assisting them in all aspects of the process Developing and maintaining relationships with Korean companies from assigned sectors that have a presence in the UK and, in liaison with UK colleagues, assisting them in overcoming any barriers to their successful UK operation and encouraging them to expand Monitoring and analysing developments that might impact the likelihood of Korean companies from assigned sectors investing overseas, particularly into the EU Managing programmes for UK VIPs and DIT specialists visiting Korea, briefing them on local developments and accompanying them on their visits Essential qualifications and experience Business development, customer service, sales, marketing skills and/or account management experience Implementing commercially focused sector strategies and/or business plans Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Korean and English Desirable qualifications and experience Familiarity with Life Sciences, Automotive, Retail industry Working experience in a business/private sector in an account management/sales/business development/marketing function Experience in delivering foreign direct investment projects Experience in working or doing business in the UK Required competencies Making Effective Decisions, Collaborating and Partnering, Achieving Commercial Outcomes, Managing a Quality Service, Delivering at Pace Application deadline Application deadline - day Application deadline - month Application deadline - year 17 April 2017 Grade A2 (L) Type of Position Fixed Term, Full-time Working hours per week 36hrs per week; 0900 – 1715 hrs Mon to Thur, 0900 – 1700 hrs Fri Region Asia Pacific Country/Territory South Korea Location (City) Seoul Type of Post British Embassy Number of vacancies 1 Starting monthly salary (KRW) 2,828,128 Start Date Start Date - day Start Date - month Start Date - year 1 May 2017 End Date End Date - day End Date - month End Date - year 30 April 2018 Other benefits and conditions of employment An induction course will be offered to the successful candidate.
