Professor Introduction
Professor Sojung Carol Park, is a Professor at Seoul National University's College of Business. Prior to join Seoul National University, she held a faculty position at California State University, Fullerton. Her academic journey boasts a Ph.D. in Insurance and Risk Management from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and MS/BS in industrial Engineering from Seoul National University, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in education and research. Professor Park's expertise spans diverse domains, including insurance economics, an in-depth understanding of the intersections between insurance and culture, Bonus-Malus System in auto insurance, financial consumer behavior, and Insurtech and Fintech strategy. Beyond her academic endeavors, Professor Park actively contributes to the broader community through her advisory roles in prestigious organizations such as the Financial Services Commission and the Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation. As a prolific author, her scholarly contributions, including leading papers in renowned journals such as Journal of Risk and Insurance, ASTIN Bulletin, Insurance, Mathematics, and Economics, The Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance - Issues and Practice. Prof. Park is a member of American Risk and Insurance Association, Korean Insurance Academic Society, Korean Risk Management Society.
