GNAM

The Only Korean Member School of the GNAM

Graduate School of Business at Seoul National University is the only Korean member of the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM), the network established by Yale University in collaboration with top business schools across the world. With GNAM, which is breaking new ground in global cooperation between universities, our MBA students are interacting with MBA students around the world through GNAM week and GNAM Network Courses, which are simultaneously open to GNAM member schools. MBA students of SNU can also study at the Yale School of Management through a dual degree program and earn two master’s degrees from SNU and Yale.

Global Network Weeks
GNAM Week is a week of advanced study sessions simultaneously run in the member universities of the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM), a network of world-class business schools including Yale University and LSE. Each university gets to choose a topic that aligns with the country and region’s characteristics.

In-depth lectures and team projects are conducted based on these topics, focusing on the country’s economic and management-related issues. Students also have opportunities to visit the representative companies and institutions of each nation and to take part in cultural programs, which help them deepen their understanding of the culture and tradition of each country.

Global Network Courses (SNOCs)
Global Network Courses are for-credit courses offered virtually by a member school open to students from throughout the network. The courses connect students from multiple member schools online for lectures and discussions, and collaborative team projects, developing teamwork skills and cross-cultural perspectives.

The courses can be thought of as small network online courses, or SNOCs. In contrast to the massive online open courses (MOOCs) offered by many institutions, in which unscreened participants have varying degrees of interest and capabilities, SNOCs enroll a selected group of top-tier MBA students engaged in a common effort to build management skills.

By bringing together MBA candidates from member schools as part of their regular coursework, the courses harness the strengths of the Global Network on a daily basis.
