Professor Introduction

Changwoo Lee is a professor of accounting at Seoul National University. He has BBA Degree from Seoul National University, MAS from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, and received his PhD Degree in Business Administration from University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining Seoul National University, he was a faculty member of Stern School of Business at New York University for 5 years. He holds CPA certificates both in Korea and U.S.A.
He served as a member and as Chairman of the Board of Directors of KASB (Korea Accounting Standard Board), as president of the Korean Accounting Association. He has been serving the country as chairman of the Performance Evaluation Board for State Enterprises of Korea, appointed by Ministry of Strategy and Finance. He has also served as chairman of the audit committees of STX and KT&G.
He was awarded the Finance and Economy Minister Award and Best Paper Award from The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also won Outstanding Teaching Award from the Alumni Association of Graduate School of Business Administration, Seoul National University.
His research focuses on Financial Accounting and Auditing. He has published seven books in the area of accounting as well as many professional research reports, and his research has appeared in prominent journals. He also served as an editor of Korean Management Association and Accounting and Auditing Journal.
