AMCHAM is honored to host a virtual discussion with Congresswoman-elect Young Kim (R-CA). As one of the first Americans of Korean heritage elected to the U.S. Congress, Congresswoman-elect Kim will shed light on her personal background and experience and share thoughts on the meaning of the U.S.-Korea relationship. The conversation will also cover Congresswoman-elect Kim’s agenda in Congressand how U.S. businesses in Korea can work with the 117th U.S. Congress to promote the bilateral relationship.

주한미국상공회의소에서는 미 하원 여성 국회의원 당선자 영 김(R-CA) 당선인과 가상 토론을 개최합니다. 미국 하원에 선출된 최초 한국계 여성 미국인 중 한 명인 영 김 당선인은 자신의 개인적 배경과 경험을 조명하고 한미 관계와 의미에 대해 의견을 나눠주실 예정입니다. 또, 영 김 당선인의 의회 안건과 주한 미국 기업들이 117차 미 의회와 함께 일하며 양국의 관계를 발전시킬 수 있는지도 다룰 예정입니다.

Congresswoman-elect Young Kim



Young Kim was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in November 2020 to represent California's 39th congressional district. Born in Incheon and raised in Seoul before emigrating to the U.S., she is the first Korean-American woman elected to Congress along with two other Korean-American women candidates also elected in 2020. As an immigrant, small-business owner, and mother,Congresswoman-elect Kim has spent her career fighting to give all Americans a chance to live their own dream. She previously served as an Assembly Member in the State of California Assembly and graduated from the University of Southern California with a bachelor of arts in business administration.

영 김 당선자는 2020년 11월 캘리포니아 제 39회 하원의원 선거구에서 하원의원으로 당선되었습니다. 미국 이주 전 서울에서 자랐으며, 2020년에 선출된 두 명의 한국계 미국인 여성 후보와 함께 최초로 하원의원에 당선된 한국계 미국인 여성입니다. 이민자, 중소기업인, 어머니로서 영 김 당선인은 모든 미국인들이 그들의 꿈을 실현할 수 있도록 투쟁해왔습니다. 영 김 당선인은 이전에 캘리포니아 주의회 의원이었으며, 서던 캘리포니아 대학(USC)에서 경영학 학사 학위를 받았습니다.
