Hosting of the Spring Industry Academia Forum in Commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of the Business School
SNU Business School hosted the “Spring Industry Academia in Commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of the Business School: Digital Assets and Fintech from the Perspective of the Startup Ecosystem” on May 26 at Supex Hall, Building No. 58. As the first academic event marking the Business School’s 20th anniversary, the forum was organized in partnership with Dunamu, the operator of the digital asset exchange “Upbit,” for an in-depth discussion of how AI and digital assets are reshaping labor, finance, assets, and industry.

The forum opened with a keynote speech by Chi-hyung Song, Chairman of Dunamu, on “The Price of Intelligence: Production, Consumption in the Age of AI, and Our Readiness.” Chairman Song viewed AI not merely as an automation technology but as a production technology that fundamentally transforms the scarcity of human intelligence, and highlighted recent technological innovations, including the emergence of ChatGPT, the surge in demand for GPUs, and progress in autonomous driving and AI agent technologies. He also predicted that the industrial ecosystem and labor would be reshaped with AI at the center and presented directions for preparing for the AI era. The next presenter, Sun-joo Yoon, the CBIO at Dunamu, delivered a lecture titled “Career Choices in the Era of AI and Digital Transformation” and shared practical insights with participants.
The following panel discussion was chaired by Professor Jongsub Lee, and speakers from Dunamu, along with SNU Business School professors Hyo Kang, Sojung Park, and Joon Mahn Lee, actively participated as panelists. The panelists exchanged diverse opinions on ▲ how AI-based productivity innovations will affect startups' barriers to entry and scaling strategies, as well as ▲ the structural changes in financial markets brought by stablecoins, digital assets, and AI Agent Payments.
The event ended on a successful note, with 200 participants, including faculty members and undergraduate students at the Business School, MBA students, and graduate students, filling the auditorium.
