The ‘78th SNU Business School Commencement Ceremony’ was held at 2 pm on Thursday, August 29, at SUPEX Hall, Building No. 58. About 100 graduates and faculty members from the Business School attended the ceremony, and guests who joined through live broadcast also congratulated the graduates on their new beginnings.

The Commencement Ceremony began with an academic report from Professor Hongsuk Yang, Vice Dean of Academic Affairs, and Professor Sunhwa Choi, Assistant Director of the MBA Program. Professor Joon Chae, Dean of SNU Business School, delivered a heartfelt message of congratulations through his address during the ceremony, which was followed by a congratulatory speech from So-young Park, the 38th President of the Undergraduate Student Council at the SNU Business School, and speeches by graduates Seo-kyung Lim (MBA ‘22) and Jin-seok Kim, President of the MBA Student Council.

At the following award ceremony, graduate Jae-yoon Kim (BBA ‘19) received the Alumni Association Award, and a total of six graduates - Yoon-kyung Kang (BBA ‘19), Yoo-jin Kim (BBA ‘19), Chae-mi Song (BBA ‘21), Ga-eun Lee (BBA ‘21), So-young Jeong (BBA ‘19), Yeon-ji Choi (BBA ‘19) - were presented with summa cum laude awards. In the MBA Program, two graduates received the Volunteer Service Award, and 20 graduates received the Academic Excellence Award.
The ceremony ended with the conferment of degrees led by Dean Joon Chae. Students received their graduation certificates, shook hands with each Business School faculty member, and celebrated their graduation with their classmates.

The ceremony concluded with the graduates cheering for each other’s new future, which would sometimes be bitter but eventually taste sweet, just like “Ashotchu (iced tea americano),” as aptly put by Seo-kyung Lim in the graduation speech.
