조우제 교수는 서울대학교 경영대학 및 경영대학원의 경영정보 분야에서 강의 및 연구를 하고 있다. 미국 University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign의 Gies College of Business에서 박사학위, 미국 Carnegie Mellon University의 Tepper Business School에서 석사, 서울대학교 응용화학부(현 화학생물공학부) 공학사를 취득하였다. 서울대 부임 전 서울시립대학교 경영대학, UNIST 경영대학에서 10년간 근무하였으며, 대학원 진학 전에 삼성 SDS에서 소프트웨어 엔지니어로 3년간 근무한 경험이 있다. 최근 연구 분야는 IT 산업에서의 인수 합병, 정보통신 발전의 거시적 영향, 전략적 IT 관리 이다.
