Seoul National University's MBA program is the only MBA program in South Korea that offers a dual degree through the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM), which includes top universities, including Yale University in the United States. The university exchanges exceptional students each year, enhancing the quality and impact of its education.

Among these students, Jinwoo Cho (19th Class of the MPA Program), who joined the Master of Advanced Management (hereinafter “MAM”) program last August for his dual master’s degree, has been selected as the Class Marshal for his graduation ceremony at the Yale School of Management, scheduled for this May.

The MAM program is widely regarded as a prestigious master’s program that develops professional managers across various fields, as it allows students to select any undergraduate or graduate courses offered by Yale University as electives. Jinwoo Cho has also used this feature of the MAM program to take courses in his areas of interest, including climate change and the energy industry.

Before being chosen as the Class Marshal, Jinwoo Cho was featured in promotional materials for the Yale Graduate School, in recognition of his deep interest in energy and climate strategies and his academic achievements. He researched how the energy pathways selected by states and societies are reflected in the pricing and adjustment of sustainable assets. His academic achievements were recognized for his contributions to the community by expanding connections among climate strategy, engineering realities, and market incentives.

Furthermore, he was recognized for his leadership through active participation in on- and off-campus activities, including various conferences, and by leading a project to improve access to education in northern Ghana using the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which ultimately led to his selection as Class Marshal.

Jinwoo Cho remarked, “My selection as the Class Marshal was largely thanks to the management knowledge and leadership skills I learned through the Seoul National University MBA Program, which became a great asset to me.” He said he will complete his semester and return to his job (Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power) to become a member of society who can contribute more wisely to both his company and society.
