Joong Ho Ahn is Professor of Information Systems at Seoul National University. He has BA and MPA degrees, both from Seoul National University, and attended Business School of Indiana University and received his M.Phil. & Ph.D. in Business Administration from Stern School of Business, New York University. Prior to joining Seoul National University, he was a faculty member at University of Baltimore and Fordham University. He worked for McDonough School of Business, Georgetown University as a teaching fellow for the MBA Program.
He was an associate dean for Office of Research Affairs at Seoul National University and director of the Danam Business Library at Seoul National University.
He served as an executive director of the Advanced Management Program, e-Business Executive Program at Seoul National University, as a board member of the National Information Agency, and as a member of the Presidential Council for National Information Strategy. He also served as a member of the advisory committee of the Nation’s Informatization Promotion at Office of the Prime Minister, Cooperative Committee on Information and Communications Industry of Ministry of Information and Communications and Electronic Commerce Committee of Ministry of Industry and Energy.
He is a founding member of the Korea Society of MIS and has served as its President. He is also the founding President of the Korea Facility Management Academy.
His research focuses on Business Transformation, Electronic & Mobile Business and Inter-Organizational Information Systems, Strategic Use of Information Technology in Government and Business and Information Technology: Its Impacts on Individuals, Organizations and Society. His research has appeared in prominent journals.
Currently he is a chairman of board of directors of the Korea Racing Authority and the Korea IT Governance Association, and founding president of the Korea Society of Horse Industry.
