Institute of Information & Operations Management

History and Mission

The Institute for Information and Operations Management was founded in June of 1989 in response to the theoretical and practical demands of academia and the business world for a system of information and communication that can keep pace with the apparent blinding economic and social changes. The Institute hopes to contribute to the rationalization of Korea's business management and the growth of such studies in Korea by promoting the efficiency in practical applications of information. The Institute proposes to work towards this end by not only developing a system of information and communication including a theory and model for information management, but by also presenting a development direction for management information systems. In addition, the Institute aims to enhance a consciousness that is more aware of the role and presence of information and communication studies, through the publication of research findings, seminars, symposiums, and educational training.
